Hydnum Caput Medusae

The Hydnum Caput Medusae is most commonly found on the trunks of trees, especially beech, from the month of July to October. This species is known to have a sweet and aromatic taste, but slightly pungent. Long soft spines cover the entire exposed portion of the fungus.
