The prints were engraved by Romeyn de Hooghe (1645-1708) after drawings from the Antwerp artist Jacobus Peeters. This print, the 8th in the series, depicts the decisive relieve of Vienna on September 12, 1683 by an allied army led by the Polish king John III Sobiesky.
