DIOECESIS | BERGENSIS | TABULA, Joan Blaeu (1662)The map of the Diocese Bergen was published in 1662 in the first volume of the Atlas Maior. Joan Blaeu (1598-1673), the publisher of the map did not have recent maps of the area available. Therefore he used an older survey map of Scandinavia from 1626 by the Swedish cartographer Anders Bureus (1571-1661) and enlarged the detail with the diocese Bergen.
