RVSSIAE | Vulgo MOSCOVIA dictae, | ..., Joan Blaeu (1638)Joan Blaeu (1598-1673) published in his atlases three large general maps of the Russian Empire. The maps of South and Northeastern Russia appeared in 1638. This map of West Russia was published in 1662 in the Atlas Maior. The image on the map is taken from a travel journal from 1610 by the Amsterdam Mayor Isaac Massa (1586-1643).
